Long overlooked, ‘Rita’ Aimée Marie Marguerite Strohl is a French composer whose rich and expressive style has, in recent years, regained its rightful place within the repertoire. Indeed, her String Quartet and her Grande Fantaisie reveal a vibrant world, imbued with lyricism and audacity, in this programme dedicated entirely to her, thanks to the generous loan from the Palazzetto Bru Zane, centre for French Romantic music.
