13-14-15 August 2026

American Summer  —  The Lodger — Années folles

A series of concerts as the sun goes down in one of Geneva's most iconic locations.
The Orchestre de la Suisse Romande will be taking over the lawn at Genève-Plage as the last rays of summer sunshine fall. The 7th edition of the festival, to be held from 13 to 15 August 2026, will open as tradition now requires with a classical evening on Thursday, followed by a Hitchcock film concert on Friday, and will end in style with a jazz evening on Saturday, in tribute to Joséphine Baker.

American Summer

Immerse yourself in an open-air musical evening with conductor Margaryta Grynyvetska!

The programme will open with Florence Price’s Colonial Dance, a vibrant orchestral piece that blends classical textures with folk rhythms.

The evening will culminate in a grand finale with Antonín Dvorák’s famous Symphony No. 9 ‘From the New World’, a masterpiece of the symphonic repertoire.

The Lodger

Friday 14 August 2026 — 9.15 pm

Released in 1927, The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (known in French as Cheveux d’or) is Alfred Hitchcock’s first true thriller and the film that launched his career.

The story transports us to a London shrouded in fog, where a serial killer, reminiscent of Jack the Ripper, is spreading terror. At the same time, an enigmatic man (Ivor Novello), bearing a striking resemblance to the description of the murderer, moves in with the Bunting family to rent a room. Throughout the film, viewers are thus plunged into constant doubt as to the lodger’s guilt.

With this film, Hitchcock lays the foundations of his style, which would make him the undisputed master of suspense. A must-see for all lovers of mystery and cinema classics, presented by chef Philippe Béran!
