The music

A child prodigy following in the footsteps of Mozart and Mendelssohn, Korngold was 9 years old when he met Mahler who saw the genius in him. The great success of his incidental music for Shakespeare's Much ado about nothing, written in 1918 during his youth in Vienna, prompted him to later produce a version for violin and piano. Exiled to the United States, he became the author of numerous film scores and returned to Europe after the war, where he had been forgotten by all. We present a morning of young composers, as Mahler also composed the Piano Quartet in A minor at the age of 16.
