Russian Ballet

In his new role as Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor, Tugan Sokhiev opens a new chapter in the history of the OSR, alongside cellist and 2021 Geneva Competition winner Michiaki Ueno, in a programme characterised by passion, elegance and emotion.

Berlioz’s Roman Carnival opens the evening with irresistible energy, before Dvorák’s Cello Concerto unfolds the composer’s nostalgia for his native Bohemia. In the second half, Tugan Sokhiev presents his own suite from Tchaikovsky’s The Swan Lake, bringing together the ballet’s most iconic passages in a personal, dramatic and intensely narrative interpretation.
