Impressed by Debussy and Ravel, the Geneva composer Michael Jarrell leaves traces of them in his music, such as in his subtle orchestration of theTrois Etudes from 1992, which seems to prolong the original work. Reflections (2019) takes up the classical form of a concerto in 3 movements, with its shimmering and refined writing amplified by the extraordinary virtuosity of its dedicatee, Bertrand Chamayou. As forLa Mer, it has been part of the OSR's DNA since the foundation of the orchestra in 1918.
