Kazuki Yamada is Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. He is also permanent conductor of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of the Yomiuri Symphony Orchestra. He is also Music Director and President of the Tokyo Philharmonic Choir and the Yokohama Sinfonietta, an ensemble he founded as a student.

Yamada appears as a guest with orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris, the Sächsische Staatskapelle in Dresden, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Stockholm, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Tonkünstler-Orchester of Lower Austria performing at the Musikverein in Vienna.

Yamada was Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande between 2010 and 2017 with whom he recorded a series of popular dance-inspired albums for the Pentatone label. Yamada also conducts the Tokyo Philharmonic Choir with whom he has recorded several albums for Fontec.
