Baroque music, and Handel's music in particular, has been tackled for some forty years by performers in search of authenticity playing on period instruments in the style of the era. These same musicians prove that this musicological pursuit can be perfectly adapted to a modern orchestra. This evening’s guest invites us to join this challenge with the complete Water Music leaving the banks of the Thames for those of the Rhône, under the patronage of Queen Victoria of course! Recognised for her performances of Handel's music, the OSR is joined by the world-renowned American soprano Joélle Harvey.
