The music

Humour, derision and reflection on the ceremony of a concert... Ligeti provokes the audience with his Poème Symphonique for 100 Metronomes launched simultaneously before stopping all by themselves, thus bringing the piece to an end. The Mahlerian orchestration of Bach's spiritual aria Komm, süsser Todby Stokowski announces the pain of the Kindertotenlieder, a cycle of 5 poems by Rückert, which resonated with Mahler's obsessions.

We wish to thank Yvonne Naef for stepping in at short notice to replace the soloist initially invited for this concert.. The performance of Sibelius' Fifth Symphony has been postponed to the 2021-22 season.
