The city of Sion inaugurated its new concert hall, NODA BCVS, on 26 August, an event that the OSR had the honour of hosting.
Under the baton of Lausanne-based conductor Lorenzo Viotti, the OSR struck the first notes in this unique concert hall in the heart of the Alps, alongside violinist Janine Jansen, co-director of the Sion Festival.
The programme for this inaugural concert included the world premiere of Minuit en plein ciel bleu by Valais composer Andreas Zurbriggen, Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto No. 2 in E minor and Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 2 in B flat major.
