Yin Shen began studying the violin at the age of 5. From 1994 to 2000, she studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music where she graduated brilliantly. From 2001, she studied at the Geneva Conservatory of Music in the class of Mr. Jean-Pierre Wallez where she obtained her soloist's diploma with distinction in June 2004. During the laureates' concert she plays as a soloist with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande under the direction of Pinchas Steinberg.

In 2003, she joined the OSR in the first violin section. She is regularly invited to give recitals and chamber music concerts, particularly in Switzerland and France.
