Daniel Johansson studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. At the beginning of his career, he received First Prizes at the Gösta-Winbergh Competition (2007) and the Wilhelm Stenhammar International Music Competition (2012).
Since his debut, the Swedish tenor has performed many roles of the "young first", such as Rodolfo (La Bohème), Alfredo Germont (La traviata) - which he sang in Geneva - or Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) and more recently, he has tackled the Wagnerian repertoire in the roles of Siegmund (Die Walküre) or Lohengrin (title role). Last season, Daniel Johansson took on two roles, including Pierre Bezoukhov (War and Peace) in Geneva.
Recognised for his contribution to the development of Swedish opera, he was awarded the honorary title of Hovsångare (Court Singer) in 2018 and in 2021 he was awarded the medal "Litteris et Artibus" by the Swedish Royal Family.
