After graduating in biochemistry from Warwick University, English baritone Christopher Maltman studied singing at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
A world-renowned Don Giovanni, increasingly in demand for Verdian roles, he is a favourite at London's Royal Opera House and a regular guest at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Berlin Staatsoper and the Salzburger Festspiele. He also performs elsewhere in Europe, including Paris, Frankfurt, Zurich, Barcelona, Madrid and Turin. In the United States, he performs frequently at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, San Francisco, Seattle, San Diego and Los Angeles. Last season Christopher Maltman appeared as Oedipus in Paris, Jochanaan (Salome) in Frankfurt, Rigoletto in Barcelona and Berlin, Don Giovanni at La Scala and Iago (Otello) at the Royal Opera House.
