Alevtina Ioffe is one of the most versatile and exciting conductors of her generation. In October 2023 she made her symphonic US debut with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, as the result of the successful US debut conducting Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro at the Seattle Opera in May 2022. Alevtina Ioffe will take up her post as Music Director at the Bern Opera from the 2025-26 season.
Alevtina conducts regularly at the Komische Oper Berlin, at the Staatstheater in Stuttgart, where she made her debut with Hänsel und Grätel and at the Gothenburg Opera. Conducting a new production of the ballet On the move, she also made her debut at the Opernhaus Zürich in December 2022.
Alevtina Ioffe is equally successful with her symphonic activities: she regularly conducts the Orchestre National de Lille, the Orchestre National de l’Île-de-France and the Berner Symphonieorchester. In Italy, Alevtina Ioffe has conducted the Orchestra della Toscana, the Orchestra del Teatro Lirico di Cagliari and the Haydn Orchestra. Conducting the Ulster Orchestra, she will make her UK debut in October 2024, followed with the London Philharmonic in November 2024. She is also the first guest conductor of the Staatskapelle Weimar from the 2024-25 season.
Born in Moscow, Alevtina Ioffe studied choral conducting, classical vocal and piano. For a decade, until 2021, Alevtina Ioffe was Music Director of The State Opera and Ballet Theatre for Young Audience “Natalia Sats” in Moscow; between February 2021 and July 2022 she has been Music Director of the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, the first women to lead an important musical institution in Russia.
