Founded in 1926, the Motet de Genève brings together around fifty-five amateur choristers of a very high standard. Performing a cappella or accompanied by symphony orchestras, its repertoire ranges from Renaissance music to contemporary music. Its areas of specialization, however, are the music of the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century; it also does not hesitate to tackle 21st-century works on occasion, and sometimes takes unexpected paths, such as its participation in the ‘The Lord of the Rings’ project with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.
