The HEM, Haute école de musique de Genève (Geneva University of Music), and its Neuchâtel campus, has been in existence since 2009. It was formed from the professional classes of three institutions: the Geneva Conservatory of Music, the Jaques-Dalcroze Institute, and the Neuchâtel Conservatory of Music. The HEM covers a historical and stylistic range from medieval music to contemporary creation, not forgetting non-European music. It attracts more than 600 students from five continents, supervised by around 100 highly qualified teachers and lecturers who are active in artistic and academic life.

Firmly rooted in regional cultural life, the HEM is an artistic and educational community of international renown. Its students and teachers collaborate with the OSR on numerous projects, including organizing joint orchestra academies and offering a joint training program, the DAS in orchestral practice, which aims to deepen and broaden students' skills in the field of orchestral practice.
