The Francis & Marie-France Minkoff Foundation, a philanthropic family foundation set up in 2009, is active in a variety of fields, including education, scientific research and social and humanitarian action, while devoting a significant part of its commitment to culture, particularly symphonic music.
In this respect, the Foundation particularly supports the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, an orchestra with which the Minkoff family has maintained ties dating back almost to its creation by Ernest Ansermet a century ago.
From the outset, the reputation of the OSR and its illustrious conductor quickly spread beyond our borders, making them "ambassadors extraordinaire" for our region, and they remain an essential player in the symphonic and operatic life of the French-speaking part of Switzerland. True to its history, the orchestra is doing everything in its power to perpetuate this reputation and maintain its high standards. To help it do so, the Foundation provides friendly and benevolent support.
The Foundation would like to thank Maestro Jonathan Nott, Artistic and Musical Director, for sharing his passion and talent with us, and for providing us with such fine musical interpretations, as well as Mrs Charlotte de Senarclens, President of the OSR Foundation, Mr Steve Roger, General Manager, the entire management team and, of course, the musicians, for their dedication to giving the best of themselves and striving for excellence, in order to offer the public top-quality concerts.
