Maestro Harding will conduct the OSR for at least two series of concerts each season.

The collaboration between Harding and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande started in September 2020, as he joined the orchestra for a series of highly successful concerts shortly before the opening of the 2020-21 season. In November 2020, Daniel Harding records two albums with the OSR, one of which features the Sibelius and Barber the violin concertos with Renaud Capuçon.

Among future projects, Maestro Harding and the OSR plan to record literary pieces set to music, including works by Shakespeare and Goethe. Further plans include audiovisual productions in parallel to the concert series, and performances outside Switzerland as part of the OSR international invitations.

Mr. Olivier Hari, President, Mr. Jonathan Nott, Musical and Artistic Director and Mr. Steve Roger, General Manager are delighted with the exceptional collaboration between the musicians of the OSR and Mr. Daniel Harding.

«It was an unexpected pleasure to get to know the OSR during these last months. I am grateful to my friend Maria-João Pires for having asked me to come and work with her and them. That was the beginning of a special friendship with the musicians of the OSR, which we will celebrate and develop over the next 2 years. When Steve Roger and his team proposed to me some irresistible musical and thematic ideas I was hooked immediately. I look forward to spending more time with this orchestra, and enjoying their unique and gorgeous musical personality. »
