Jona Venturi was born in Italy in 1990. He graduated from the Conservatorio di Musica F. Morlacchi in Perugia under the guidance of Claudia Giottoli and continued his studies at the Haute École de Musique of Geneva with Jacques Zoon where he obtained his Master in Music Performance, Concert degree in 2016 and his Master in Music Performance, Orchestra in 2018.
He has attended masterclasses with Andrea Oliva, Giampaolo Pretto, Pierre Dumail, Pamela Stahel, Gudrun Hinze and Natalie Schwaabe. In 2018 he was appointed to the post of Solo Piccolo at the Norrköpings Symfoniorkester in Sweden. He also performs as a soloist and chamber musician and has been invited to numerous orchestras such as the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Kungliga Operan (Royal Swedish Opera) in Stockholm, the Nationaltheater Mannheim, the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome and the Norrlands Operan in Umeå. Jona Venturi has also played under the baton of conductors including Riccardo Muti, Antonio Pappano, Daniele Gatti, Michail Jurowski or Leif Segerstam.
Jona Venturi has won prizes at many international competitions and in 2020 he was awarded the first prize at the NFA Piccolo Artist Competition in the USA.
Jona Venturi joined the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in 2021 as principal piccolo and second flute.
