
A talent from the Metropolitan Opera's young ensemble, the Canadian-Tunisian mezzo-soprano Rihab Chaieb made a remarkable debut in the roles of Zulma (L'italiana in Algeri), Laura (Luisa Miller) and Zerlina (Don Giovanni), and has won numerous awards: 1st prize at the Gerda Lissner International Competition (2016), 3rd prize at Operalia (2018) and finalist in Neue Stimmen (2013).
She was subsequently engaged for Dorabella (Così fan tutte) at the Teatro Santiago de Chile, Fantasio in Montpellier, Kasturbai (Satyagraha) at the Vlaamse Opera, as well as in the world premiere of The Phoenix by Tarik O'Regan at the Houston Grand Opera.
She sang under the direction of Gabriel Feltz in her debut as Carmen at the Cologne Opera. Last season, Rihab Chaieb made her Washington National Opera debut in Così fan tutte and sang Penelope (Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria) on a European tour with Emiliano Gonzalez Toro.
