Marianne Crebassa

Mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa’s spectacular rise in international music displays her joy and equal ease at being on an opera stage, in a recital hall, in a recording studio or in concert. Marianne is a recent winner of the Artiste Lyrique de l’année at the Victoires de la Musique, and the Solo Vocal Award at the Gramophone Awards. 

The very beginning of 2025-2026 season sees Marianne debut with Deutsch Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken and Joseph Pons in Ravel Shéhérazade, and with Münchner Philharmoniker and Kent Nagano in Berlioz Les Nuits d’Été. Later in the season, Marianne returns to Paris Opéra Comique, singing Charlotte in Massenet Werther and to Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse in one of her signature pieces, Mahler Kindertotenlieder. Other Mahler engagement this season include his 2nd Symphony with Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Riccardo Minasi, and Das Lied von der Erde for her return to Orchestre National de France under Juraj Valčuha, and lastly his 3rd Symphony with Orchestre de Paris and Klaus Mäkelä at Festival d’Aix-en-Provence. Other 2025-26 highlights include Berlioz La Damnation de Faust with Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and Charles Dutoit; and continues her long-term recital collaboration with pianist Alphonse Cemin at Ciclo de Lied/Teatro de la Zarzuela Madrid and at Wiener Musikverein.

On the opera stage, recent seasons have seen her make debuts as Romeo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi) at La Scala, and in a new production of Resurrection at the festival d’Aix-en-Provence staged by Romeo Castellucci. 

She recently sang Verdi Requiem under Riccardo Muti and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and performed as Sesto in La Clemenza di Tito at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence with Ensemble Pygmalion.
Among her many opera performances, she has sung Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) at the Metropolitan Opera, Dorabella (Cosi fan tutte) for the Berliner Staatsoper and Wiener Staatsoper and the title role in Offenbach’s Fantasio at the Opéra Comique, as well as Angelina (La Cenerentola) at the Opéra national de Paris and La Scala, Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande) at the Berliner Staatsoper, Cecilio (Lucio Silla), Charlotte Salomon and Sesto (La Clemenza di Tito) for the Salzburger Festspiele. 
Marianne has performed recitals and concerts with the Festival de Saint Denis, Salzburg’s Mozart Festwochen, The Gulbenkian Foundation, the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre de Paris, the Wiener Symphoniker, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Mostly Mozart Festival, the BBC Proms with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Wigmore Hall, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Elbphilharmonie and the famous Waldbuhne with the Berliner Philharmoniker. She was also was invited by Daniel Barenboim to celebrate the Debussy centenary with concerts with the Staatskapelle along with a recital at the Pierre-Boulez-Saal in Berlin.
