Born in Bucharest, Florin Moldoveanu began studying the violin at the age of seven. Three years later, he plays for the first time as a soloist with an orchestra. In 1985, he entered the virtuosity class of Margarita Karafilova at the Conservatoire de Lausanne where he obtained a First Prize with congratulations from the jury and, in 1988, a concert licence.

Florin Moldoveanu has been a member of the first violin section of the OSR since 1992.

At the same time, he plays regularly in chamber music formations and as a soloist.
