Constantinos Carydis was born in Athens in 1974 where he studied piano and music theory at the Conservatory. He received his training as a conductor at the University of Music and Arts in Munich. His first contracts take him to the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz and the Staatsoper in Stuttgart.

Constantinos Carydis now works regularly as a conductor with the Bayerische Staatsoper and the Frankfurt Opera, as well as with the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, the Vienna and Berlin Staatsopers, the Netherlands National Opera, the Opéra-Comique in Berlin, the Opéra de Lyon and participates in the Edinburgh and Athens Festivals.

His engagements have also taken him to the stages of the greatest international orchestras (Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, NDR Symphony Orchestra, German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Orchestra of the National Academy of St. Cecilia in Rome, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra and many others).

The Carlos Kleiber Prize of the Bayerische Staatsoper was awarded to him in 2011.
