Soprano Aušrinė Stundytė makes her debut at the Salzburg Festival 2020 in the title role of Elektra conducted by Franz Welser-Möst. This project, one of the artist's most significant in the past seasons, is acclaimed by both press and public. Born in Vilnius, she studied singing at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and the Leipzig Academy of Music and Theatre. Her career began with appearances at the Leipzig Opera and as a member of the Cologne Opera Ensemble.

She has worked with conductors such as Gianandrea Noseda, Zubin Mehta and Fabio Luisi, and with directors such as Calixto Bieito, David Alden and Tatjana Gürbaca. Her extensive concert and lieder repertoire includes works by Strauss, Berg and Wagner, and she recorded lieder by Hermann Heyer with the MDR Orchestra Leipzig. She will appear as Lady Macbeth in 2023 in Geneva and Vienna.
