The music
A cultural ambassador for Mexican tourism, Alondra de la Parra is a highly sought-after conductor with widely recognized charisma. She will be surrounded by two stars, the illustrious Russian pianist Mikhail Pletnev and young violon prodigy Daniel Lozakovich.
A triple opportunity to celebrate the New Year thanks to a particularly festive program starting with the energetic Ruslan and Ludmila overture by the father of Russian classical music, Mikhail Glinka, before a leap across the Atlantic to Gershwin's An American in Paris. Frenchman Maurice Ravel loved jazz so much, his Piano Concerto in Gprovides another link back across the ocean between the two countries. Back again, and Leonard Bernstein is inspired by Voltaire for his operetta Candide, whose overture is a marvel of humour and energy. We finish the evening in France with the brilliant and romantic ViolinConcerto in B minor by Saint-Saëns which will make the magic bow of our young virtuoso shine.
