Ross Knight is currently the solo player of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. Prior to that, he was a member of the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Ross Knight has also performed as guest principal tuba with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, and as a guest artist at Covent Garden and the German Symphony Orchestra in Berlin. He was also principal tuba of the European Union Youth Orchestra for three years and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra for two years.
As a soloist, Ross Knight won the title of Brass Player of the Year 2012 on BBC Radio 2 and also the Second Prize at the European Brass and Percussion Championships in 2014. He has also performed as guest soloist with the BBC Concert Orchestra, Exeter Symphony Orchestra, Whitehall Orchestra, Grimethorpe Band and the Brighouse and Rastrick Band, and has given many recitals throughout the UK.
He has also given masterclasses at the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal Northern College of Music, the Haute École de Musique de Genève and the Conservatoire National de Lyon.
Ross Knight has recently been named an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music Award (ARAM). He is a Yamaha artist.
