Michael Tschamper begins by studying piano and drum. In 1992, he devoted himself to percussion and studied at the Geneva Conservatory of Music. In 2002, he obtained his soloist's diploma and was hired as first percussionist with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. In 2004, he was awarded with the congratulations of the jury a postgraduate diploma in contemporary music ensemble.

In addition to his activities as an orchestral and chamber musician, Michael also takes part, as a percussionist or drummer, in various musical projects in jazz and variety music. In 2018, he co-creates the first Swiss brand of percussion sticks and accessories « PREMIUM PERCUSSION © » and takes over its management in january 2022.
