Born in France in 1990, Merry Mechling began playing the violin at the age of 4 in Jacques Saussard's class at a music school in the Ardèche. He discovered his passion for the orchestra at the age of 13, when he took his first orchestral course under Ludovic Morlot. He continued his studies at the Lyon Conservatoire in Nathalie Geoffray-Canavesio's class. In 2021, following his studies at the Haute École de Musique de Genève, Merry moved to the Geneva region and began working with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande as an additional musician. This valuable experience enabled him to join the OSR in 2022.
In 2012, he entered Tedi Papavrami's class at the Haute école de musique de Genève, where he successfully completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. During his studies, he won the Marc SCHWOK prize and the Maggy BREITTMAYER prize.
