Born in France in 1990, Merry Mechling begins playing the violin at the age of 4 in a music school in Ardèche in one of Jacques Saussard’s classes. He discovers his passion for the orchestra at the age of 13 during his first internship under music director Ludovic Morlot. He continues his studies at the Regional Conservatory in Lyon in the class taught by Nathalie Geoffray-Canavesio.

In 2012, he is admitted to the Geneva haute école de Musique in the class of Tedi Papavrami where he successfully obtains his bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. During his studies, he wins the Marc SCHWOK prize as well as the Maggy BREITTMAYER prize.

After relocating to the region of Geneva in 2021, Merry builds up his number of performances with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande as an additional player. Thanks to this valuable experience, he becomes a full member of the OSR in 2022.
