Born in London, Lucy Woodward grew up in New York and the Netherlands in a musical family: her mother was an opera singer, musicologist and belly dancer, her father a conductor and composer.

She began her career in the early 2000’s signing her first record deal to Atlantic with songs on top 40 radio and scoring two BMI Music Awards. But as she musically evolved, her audience did as well, and released several more albums on Barnes & Noble, Verve and GroundUP/ Universal record labels.

Lucy was the featured touring artist for Pink Martini (requiring her to learn to sing in Croatian, Turkish and Japanese on a few days’ notice) and the Grammy Award-winning band Snarky Puppy with their collaboration “Too Hot To Last”. She has opened for Snarky Puppy for many years, most recently in London’s Royal Albert Hall alongside guitar virtuoso Charlie Hunter. Charlie and Lucy released two albums and toured non-stop from 2018 into 2020 in North America and Europe.

Lucy Woodward has also sung and arranged background vocals for artists such as Rod Stewart, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand and Chaka Khan, and has appeared on several film soundtracks including The Blindside, Last Vegas, What a Girl Wants and Ice Princess with her cover of Bjork's It's Oh So Quiet. She will be soon be releasing new music from her album Stories From The Dust, a collection of melodically personal stories with infectious grooves recorded on the border of Texas and Mexico.
