Born in Geneva in 1990 into a family of musicians, Guillaume Jacot began studying the violin at the age of four. He entered the Haute école de musique de Genève at the age of 13 and obtained his Master's degree as a soloist in 2010. He then studied in Lieke Te Winkel's class at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (2011-2013) before returning to Geneva, where he obtained his Master of Music Pedagogy in 2015 in Tedi Papavrami's class.
Guillaume Jacot was Concertmaster of the Sinfonietta de Genève for the 2013-14 season, is Concertmaster of the Orchestre Nexus, has occasionally replaced the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo as concertmaster and has taken part in numerous festivals and orchestral academies such as the Verbier Festival Orchestra, the Ossiach Academy Orchestra in Austria and the Purpur Orchestra in Croatia. After being a member of the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève between 2018-2021, he is now a member of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.
Guillaume Jacot has won several prizes in performance competitions: Second Prize at the Stephanie Hohl Competition at the University of Vienna, Second Prize at the Lausanne Music Performance Competition, First Prize at the Schweizer Musik Wettbewerb in the chamber music category, among others.
As well as being a violinist, Guillaume Jacot is also co-director of the Lucens Classique festival, performs on stage as an acrobat and produces electronic music. He mixes all his arts on stage in various shows, such as with Igudesman&Joo's League of Xtraordinary Musicians, Sonja Schebeck's Freestyle Orchestra and his Family, with whom he has just created a show mixing music and acrobatics.
