Gabriel was born in San Cristóbal (Venezuela), where he began his musical studies at El Sistema de Orquestas de Venezuela with trumpet teachers Gentil Ramírez, Pacho Flores and Gaudy Sanchez. In addition to training with various Venezuelan orchestras, Gabriel has toured Europe as a member of the Orquesta Sinfónica Teresa Carreño, playing in major concert halls such as Amsterdam's Concertgebouw and Berlin's Philharmonie, as well as at renowned festivals such as Beethovenfest Bonn and Salzburger Festspiele.

In Switzerland, as a trumpeter, he obtained a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in orchestral performance at the Haute école de musique de Genève with Professor Gérard Métrailler, and a Master's degree in pedagogy at the Hochschule der Künste Bern with Professor Giuliano Sommerhalder. He performs regularly with professional orchestras such as Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Basel Sinfonieorchester, Berner Symphonieorchester, Orchestre Symphonique Bienne-Soleure, and with professional baroque/classical ensembles such as Ensemble Gli Angeli Genève and Ensemble Cantatio.
