The mezzo-soprano Elena Zhidkova makes her debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. She appeared several times at the Bayreuth Festival and was invited by Claudio Abbado for a concert performance of Parsifal, for Schumann's Faust Scenes and for his farewell concert at the Berlin Philharmonic. She returned to this legendary hall under the baton of Nikolaus Harnoncourt in Handel's Jephta.
In opera, Elena Zhidkova brilliantly interprets the great Wagnerian roles, which she also performs on the stage of the Grand Théâtre de Genève, and blends in perfectly with the features of Judith (Bluebeard's Castle), for which she won a "Golden Mask" during her engagement at the Mariinsky Theatre. In this role, she enjoyed great success at La Scala, in London and in Tokyo, under the direction of renowned conductors such as Valery Gergiev and Seiji Ozawa.
