Charlotte Filou

Born in Picardy in 1986, Charlotte Filou is an actress and director. She made her debut in musical theater in Paris (Cabaret, Un Violon sur le toit, La Mélodie du Bonheur, Grease, Fame and Les Fiancés de Loches, Molière 2016 for Musical Show) and worked at the Opéras de Marseille, Avignon, Metz, Reims and Massy with directors Jérôme Savary, Didier Henry and Jacques Duparc. She has worked on theatrical creations in Switzerland under the direction of Fabrice Melquiot, Françoise Courvoisier, Joan Mompart, Frédéric Polier, Robert Bouvier, Dominique Ziegler, José Lillo, Dylan Ferreux, Bastien Blanchard, Jean Liermier. She defends the fruitfulness of collective work, collaborating with Cie Mokett on Dukudukuduku (Centre culturel des Grottes, 2019) and Dégueu (Théâtre Am Stram Gram, 2023). Musically at ease, she and Antoine Courvoisier have created two musical-comedy shows, CabaretAntoine & Charlotte (2019) and Au Tribunal du “Ça s'fait pas” (2021), which tour regularly, as well as spontaneous performances (Train des Amours, AmStramGram & l'Usine à Gaz, 2023).

She holds a Master's degree in directing and dramaturgy from the University of Paris Nanterre. In 2017, she directed her first play, Variations Énigmatiques, and assisted Marie-José Malis in the creation of Pirandello's Vêtir ceux qui sont nus at the CDN La Commune in Aubervilliers. With Filou Théâtre, she develops her own creations, close to documentary-inspired theater. She wrote and directed Hétérotopies (Théâtre du loup, “C'est déjà demain” festival, 2019), M'PI ET JEAN-LOUIS a show mixing cinema and theater (Parfumerie, 2021), then created LOUISE (Les Amis musiquethéâtre, 2023) reviving the revolutionary flames of the anarchist, writer and feminist Louise Michel. She co-staged Angelo Dell'Aquila's performance Plus Jamais Demain at La Parfumerie with fifteen performers on stage, and directed two musical events: the musical tale Le Rêve de Naïa for the 130th anniversary of Ondine Genevoise, and Héraklès with the contemporary music ensemble Ensemble Éole. She is currently starring in Coline Serreau's La Crise at the Théâtre de Carouge and on tour in French-speaking Switzerland, prior to a Franco-Swiss tour in 2025. Since 2022, Charlotte has been a member of the Board of TIGRE, the Geneva-based umbrella organization for independent and professional theater companies, and of CRAS, the Coordination Romande des Arts de la Scène.
