
Stefano Montanari is a renowned violinist in the field of Baroque music and the author of a teaching method. A great specialist of Rossini, he often conducts his operas, such as Il barbiere di Siviglia in Verona and Venice, La Cenerentola in Lyon, Edinburgh and Rome, Il viaggio a Reims in Amsterdam and Rome, and his Stabat Mater in Warsaw.
He is often invited to conduct Mozart, in Lyon (Don Giovanni in David Marton's psychoanalytical staging), in Antwerp (La clemenza di Tito) and in Moscow (Così fan tutte). In 2021 he has been invited to the Zurich Opera House to conduct Berlioz's version of Gluck's Orpheus and Eurydice. Last season he finally made his first appearance at the Grand Théâtre de Genève in Anna Bolena.
