Founded in 1926, the Motet de Genève brings together around 55 highly accomplished amateur singers. Performing both a cappella and with symphonic ensembles, its repertoire spans from Renaissance music to contemporary works. The main areas of focus, however, is on music from the mid-nineteenth to mid-twentieth century. The choir also occasionally ventures into 21st-century repertoire, unafraid to explore unexpected paths such as participating in The Lord of the Rings project with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.
The Motet de Genève is a member of the Geneva Association of Oratorio Choirs (AGECO) and receives both public and private funding.
