Armin Jordan

The appointment of Armin Jordan at the head of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande was in a way a return to its roots, not so much because Jordan shared the same nationality as the Orchestra’s founder, Ernest Ansermet, but because of the universality of their talent. Like Ansermet, Armin Jordan was equally at ease in very different repertoires, from works by Haydn to early twentieth century French music, Viennese music and the great operas. Armin Jordan devoted his life and time essentially to his orchestra, and it was with him that the OSR made most of its recordings.
