Philippe Béran, conductor

Nino Rota was 14 when his first oratorio, The Childhood of Saint John the Baptist, was performed in Milan. He then went on to work with Alfredo Casella before Toscanini advised him to study at the famous Curtis Institute of Philadelphia. The rest belongs to the legend of cinema, for which Nino Rota composed his best-known music: for Fellini (The Clowns, La Strada, I Vitteloni, La Dolce Vita, 8½, Prova d’orchestra, Boccaccio ‘70), for Visconti (The Leopard), and for Coppola (The Godfather). An evening that will fill the heads of the audience with both images and music.
