Choeur du Grand Théâtre de Genève

Founded in 1962, The Grand Théâtre Opera Chorus is involved in almost all of the theatre’s lyric productions. At its core is a group of 46 professional singers, of many different nationalities, with a varying number of supplementary choristers joining their ranks in larger opera productions. The Grand Théâtre Opera Chorus has been on international tours, made several recordings and given concert performances, often in association with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, with conductors from around the world. The Grand Théâtre Chorus master ensures that the chorus is always in top vocal form and leads it as it rehearses its parts in the season’s productions. This sensitive position has been occupied by several chorus masters: Giovanni Bria, Philippe Cart, Paul-André Gaillard, Jean Laforge, Guillaume Tourniaire and Ching-Lien Wu.
